The Right Level For You
Below you will see examples of different pet carers and what they can earn. You will see that they choose the style of pet sitting to suite their life.
Mum of 2 children at school
Jane loves pet sitting and runs her own successful business. She prepares her children for school and then gets ready for her day. Jane concentrates on Doggy Day care that is very popular and dog walking. Jane has two little dogs that arrive at 9am and are picked up at 5pm . In between this she walks a Westie once per day. So she would take her two day care dogs along with her Westie and give them a one hour walk at around midday . This leaves Jane's morning and afternoon free to do what ever she wants to. Her only requirement is that she looks after the dogs in her care and that they are fed, have water and somewhere peaceful and comfortable to sleep. Jane also has five host families to help with the dog boarding. The income Jane will earn from doggy day care and dog walking (Based on a five day week) is approximately £200 per week.
Mr. & Mrs Johnson .. Retired couple
Mr. and Mrs Johnson are a retired couple who love dogs but do not want to commit to owning one of their own. It gives them great pleasure to take one or two dogs at a time into their home whilst people are away. The dogs will stay with them for a day, a weekend or even one or two weeks. Mr. Johnson walks the dogs each morning, giving them some exercise and again in the afternoon. The dogs are extremely happy and content. The income from dog sitting will earn them approximately £280 per week.
Sam .. single parent of two school children
Sam has children at school but doesn't want to take dogs into her home. Therefore she concentrates on dog walking only. She will start her first dog walk at 11.00 for half an hour and pick up four dogs to walk. Then at 12.00 she will pick up two German shepherds and two Labradors to walk for one hour. When these dogs are returned home at 1pm she will then stop for lunch. At 2pm Jackie will then do another hour walk with four more dogs. By 3pm she is finished and can pick up her children from school. Jackie manages three host families and generates an income from them. The income from dog walking and managing host families for Jackie will be approximately £550 per week. (Jackie does not work weekends).
